Youth Livelihoods Development Coordinator will: • Oversee the livelihood and workforce development component of the project. • Coordinate all program components involved in providing support to youth after they’ve exited the program including support to transition to formal schooling, workforce or vocational skills training, self-employment, formal employment, and track their progress and status in their placements. • Build positive relationships with the business community and public/private sector entities that are willing to engage students in mentoring, apprenticeships, internships and other pre-employment and employment activities. • Ensure activities are technically sound and culturally appropriate to best address key challenges faced by the targeted youth population. • Conduct labor market assessments and train project staff in the field to conduct on-going market assessments to ensure skills training is demand driven. • Contribute to effective written reports and oral presentations on the program, including periodic reports, identifying and addressing challenges facing the program, and articulating the program’s success. • Represent P2E and overall program interests at local, national and regional meetings, workshops and conferences. • Ensure that all P2E policies and procedures related to this program are communicated effectively and adhered to by partners. • The Youth Livelihoods Development Coordinator will have at least 2 years of progressively responsible project management experience in Uganda. Knowledge of and experience in youth and adult education, vocational technical education, workforce development skills training and/or public private partnerships is strongly preferred. Qualifications: The candidate should have: • A bachelor’s degree, Workforce Development or a closely related field is required. • Experience in Uganda with a broad network of contacts in the public and private sector. • Experience as a Project Manager or Program Management or similar senior level experience on a large donor-funded program, preferably USAID-funded, and other donor funded. • Demonstrated ability to find viable solutions to complicated problems in a flexible, time-sensitive and creative manner. • Experience successfully working with the public sector, the private sector, civil society, community-based organizations, local communities, local government and donors on major capacity building and leadership development or marketing and educational campaigns. • Strong leadership skills and demonstrated ability to manage and motivate teams. • Solid troubleshooting skills and sound judgment in dealing with partners experiencing implementation challenges. • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English are required. • A commitment to conducting business with transparency and the utmost integrity and the ability to provide professional references.
