The Youth Country Coordinator (YCC) will be a young person aged between 20 and

27 years. S/he will be the focal point for young staff/volunteers in the RHRN2 project,

and together with the National Coordinator (NC), be a champion for the meaningful

involvement and participation of young people in the project.

Training and experience

A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in any of the humanities studies including Social sciences, Social Work and Social Administration and Development studies from a reputable Institution. Post Graduate training in SRHR Advocacy, Public Health, Project Planning and Management will be an added advantage.

Knowledge, skills and temperament

Knowledge and skill in communicating and advocating with and to different stakeholders on aspects of youth Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) in a gender-sensitive manner. At least 3 years of relevant work experience in SRHR and advocacy with a reputable  Non-Government Organization or public institution. A strong experience in documentation,  analytical and strategic thinking, Advocacy and coordination. A good understanding of existing international, national, and local SRHR and gender norms, policies and gender mainstreaming approaches. Strong interpersonal and communication skills

 

Responsibilities
1. To promote the active and Meaningful and Inclusive Youth Participation of national Coalition partners in all aspects of the programme.

2. To ensure ongoing updates on the programme for the youth coalition/staff/volunteers/ as well as country coalition members on issues related to effective youth participation

3. To coordinate and facilitate the content and logistics for capacity strengthening, review and planning meetings and consultations planned for RHRN2coalition members, young people and other partner organizations around MIYP, i.e. joint youth activities

4. To provide partner organizations with full information on youth participation initiatives within the RHRN2 programme and solicit their proactive support in engaging young people and young staff/volunteers.

5. To analyze materials and prepare summaries of articles on meaningful and inclusive youth participation, for dissemination among the coalition members, both adults and young people, young staff and volunteers

6. To support the development and incorporate a policy on the protection of young people in all programme activities

7. To keep the National Coordinator (NC) and partner organizations informed of progress and developments of youth participation in the Coalition.

8. To participate in internal meetings, workshops and working groups as agreed with the NC.

9. To support in planning, monitoring, evaluation and learning activities and operational research.

10. Perform any other professional duties as may be requested from time to time
