Job purpose:
RAHU is committed to promote prudent professional procurement standards and practices in line with national and international best practice. As such therefore, the organisation has specifically carved out a Procurement Function responsible for: assessing and evaluating products, services and suppliers; negotiating contracts, and ensuring that approved purchases are cost-efficient and of a sufficient high quality.
The primary role of the Procurement Officer is to manage procurements at RAHU. In this role, one plays a pivotal role in securing high-quality, cost-effective services and supplies for the organisation. The Procurement Officer also ensures the adherence to and RAHU procurement procedures, policies and guidelines; maintain an updated list of current and incoming supplies and services.
Reporting to: Operations Manager
Position grading: This is an entry level position

Qualifications
A Young Person -The successful position holder should be less than 30 years of age
Must be an Alumnus of the RAHU Peer Educators Academy (PEA) Bachelor’s Degree in: Bsc Degree in Logistics and Supplies Management, Supply Chain
Management, Bachelor’s degree in Business field or Business Administration or related field
Additional / post-graduate qualifications will be a plus
Level 2 Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS) certification
Job-Related Experience and Knowledge
Membership to The Institute of Procurement Professionals of Uganda (IPPU) or related professional procurement body
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Purchasing Software
Proven working experience as a Procurement Officer
Knowledge of sourcing and procurement techniques as well as a dexterity in “reading” the market
Talent in negotiations and networking
Good knowledge of supplier or third-party management software
Aptitude in decision-making and working with numbers
Experience in collecting and analysing data
Strong leadership capabilities
Supervisory and management experience
High level of ethical conduct
