Job Purpose:
The Project Officer – Disability provides project implementation support and coordination to the disability interventions at facility, sub-county, and community levels in the project-supported districts. The role will coordinate activities related to early identification and linkage to services of children 0-9 years with disabilities, and focus on improving livelihoods of identified households of children with disabilities.
Qualifications and Experience:

Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Health Sciences, Physiotherapy, Community Based Rehabilitation, Social Sciences, or related discipline.

Minimum of 3 years experience implementing Early Childhood Development (ECD), disability or Orphans, and other vulnerable children (OVCs) Projects.
-
Should have knowledge of Community Base Rehabilitation (CBR), Disability, ECD, HIV, Reproductive Maternal Newborn Child and Adolescent Health (RMNCAH), guidelines, and policies in Uganda.
-
Should have experience in community mobilization, engagement, and coordination of community-level structures in project work
-
Experience in implementing community economic empowerment innovations, including Village Saving and Loans Association (VSLA) methodology
-
Experience working with children and youth is an asset

Proven experience in building capacity of both professional and lay health care workers

Computer literacy (MS Office) is a must
-
Should have previous experience in documenting impactful case studies, lessons learned, and program reports.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, able to engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
