Reporting to the Head of Business Technology, the role holder’s role will be responsible for participating in the BT Strategy formulation and implementation of effective release management, efficient monitoring and performance tracking of the bank services channels, and relationship management with Technology partners, to assure a very high degree of availability and stability of bank services.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, and COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:
• A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or other numerical biased degrees.
• A relevant advanced (Masters or Postgraduate) University qualification is an added advantage.
• Certifications in Big Data, Database Management, and technology governance and leadership (ITIL, DevOps, Scrum, etc) preferred.
• 7+ years of demonstrable working experience in a busy IT environment.
• 5+ years of team leadership experience in the bank Core Banking and bank IT digital channels
• Proven leadership and organizational development skills.
• Experience in supporting databases (preferably Oracle, PostgreSQL, and/or Microsoft SQL).
• Application development competencies.
• Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
• Self-motivated, adaptable, and agile in difficult situations.

Responsibilities
• Provide senior leadership to the channels, business applications, and core Banking team of experts that support the technology production environment that enables bank service delivery.
• The Role participates in project management, data strategy support, change controls, advises on technology strategy.
• Prepare capacity plans of the technology Production Environment and guarantees documentation of all related operating instructions is done.
• Define, propose, and advise on the IT Policies of the Bank.
• Build and maintain partner relationships (e.g. agent networks, Fintechs, etc.) with dfcu Bank with a defined engagement framework for proactive service reviews and continuous improvement.
• Provide requisite technical advisory & support for deployment and management of the business systems.
• Supervise and enforce the efficient and secured operation of core banking and all business application activities.
• Store, protect and preserve the bank’s customer and business data and support the MIS and Data, analytics teams.
• Drive implementation of our data strategy – coordinating data extract, transform, load (ETL), and backup activities.
• Define, propose, and advise on the technology and production environment operating models of the Bank.
• Sustain a harmonious alignment of activities and incident/problem escalations associated with the CCIO BT domain.
• Support the project rollout of the Bank’s Strategic Enterprise IT investments, processes, and practice improvements.
• Lead and ensure tested, working, and reliable IT Disaster recovery plans for business applications.
• Respond to Audit and IT risk concerns to support IT security initiatives and lower the IT Risk profile.
