Q: Is love the same as lust?

No. Lust is having very strong sexual feelings for someone while Love is a variety of different feelings, states, and attitudes that ranges from interpersonal affection to pleasure. It can refer to an emotion of a strong attraction and personal attachment.

Lust is solely based on physical attraction and fantasy although being in love doesn’t exclude lust, infact lust can lead to love. When you’re falling in love, it’s often tough to tell the difference between the two, especially if it’s the first time you’ve experienced such intense emotions.

Signs of lust;
You are totally focused on a person’s looks and body.
You are interested in having sex but not building connections.
You would rather keep the relationship on a fantasy level other than discussing the feelings.
You are lovers, being friends makes you feel uncomfortable.

Signs of love;
You want/yearn to spend quality time together other than having sex.
You motivate each other to be better.
You want/hope you get to meet his/her friends and family.
You feel free and comfortable when around each other.
You’re totally honest and listen to each other.
