As a youth-serving organisation, Reach A Hand Uganda communicates to young people through innovative, fun, and trendy ways that rhyme with music, art, and drama. We strongly believe in the power of the arts in communicating and raising awareness about Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights [SRHR]. In this regard, we’ve collaborated with cultural icons to spread the word and reach every young person through edutainment.
You must be wondering who the cultural icons are. Well, the RAHU Cultural icons are people who have excelled in a certain space and have influence over young people. Our Cultural icons include and are not limited to artists, actors, comedians, sports personalities, etc.
RAHU in collaboration with the Buzz Awards recognizes outstanding Cultural icons in the category of Teenz Cultural Icon By Reach A Hand Uganda. The buzz RAHU cultural icon award recognizes outstanding cultural icons who go beyond the normal to make a difference and impact the lives of young people.
Last year’s award was scooped by Geosteady, who worked closely with us in making the hit song“Get Up, Speak Out” that speaks about the dangers of staying silent, and the importance of making informed choices. Watch the full video here. Geosteady has also featured in different songs that we use in our different outreaches and is always part of us in these. He also took part in curating the theme song for the exciting Pan African series, Kyaddala.

The deadline is 19th November 2021 and then voting will start on 20th November ahead of the grand awarding ceremony which will take place on 19th December.
