Use PEP when you are exposed to HIV infection. If you had sex there is minimal chance you will not get infected. However, it should be noted that if you are exposed to HIV infection like experienceing broken condom, do not think you are already infected and therefore no need to continue protecting yourself. No even if you are exposed to infection, continue protecting yourself.

  2. What happens if PEP is taken a month after the date you ought to have been with an HIV affected person? Some times you may realise or be suspicious after a while so what do you do in this case?
